it's tuesday and i'm still cold!

Wow, what a swim I had on Sunday. The water was FREEZING. 10 degrees. (around 50 for the yanks!) I came to the water's edge, looked at the the freezing slosh below...I was already shivering, but oh well may as well swim, right? So I lowered myself on the ladder, dipped my foot in, yelped, ran back up the ladder and felt my only way in was a full-plunge.

So that is what I did, my friends. Instantly my body was like What in the WORLD?! I yelped like a seal. My head was ice. My feet were dead sticks attached to my body. But at that point, I was like 'well i'm already in, may as well swim!' So that is what I did. I swam for about 25 minutes. I was in the water a total of 27 minutes. NOT BAD. The lads said my seal was back swimming with me...yea!

I got out and knew I was in for it if I didn't get my clothes on. I got them on, eventually, even though I couldn't lift my leg because I couldn't feel it. The others were standing around, having a coffee, and all I could think about was my hot shower at home. So I said 'sorry guys i gotta go!' and made my way toward the car.

I don't recommend driving after being so cold, but what else can a girl do? So I drove home, ran into the house, and turned on that shower. Twenty minutes later, I was a new person, and I felt really good. Swimming in the sea is so refreshing, even if you can't really enjoy it in the winter.

I'll be back next week for more of the fun. :)
